      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Thursday, 13 May, 2021 - 09:56 · 2 minutes

Realpolitiks II from Jujubee S.A. and publisher 1C Entertainment has left Early Access, and they've also released a Linux build along with it.

A modern twist on the classic grand-strategy genre, as you take control of any contemporary nation in an attempt to assert dominance among the global superpowers so it's obviously a highly political game. Develop your country’s economy, technology and army; use your diplomatic skills, build an impressive spy network and get ready to fight major global threats such as terrorism, pandemics or famine. Build powerful alliances, wage wars on your enemies and achieve greatness! It expands in the first game in a lot of ways, enhancing all the features of the previous game and adding in many more options to expand.

The Sacrifices is an upcoming collection of seven interconnected stories set in Britain

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Friday, 30 October, 2020 - 14:45 · 1 minute

Game dev studio Far Few Giants have announced The Sacrifices, a set of seven narrative adventures set in Britain.

These short adventures are all connected in some way too, and the idea is that each of them put you into the "everyday lives of a diverse range of people as they navigate the toughest ethical moment of their life". A politically charged set of games touching on immigration, extremism and more with it being made as "a direct response to the dystopian times we're living in".

    • Take it all in  - Lose yourself in breathtaking, surreal colours, impressionistic art, and a beautiful original score by Richard Campbell.
    • A glimpse into their lives - Each self-contained game takes only 10-20 minutes to play.

Currently, they have two free games already out with this campaign to do five more and bring it all under one roof with a final "Director’s Cut" edition. This full edition will support Linux which they've been clear on, although they said to us that the existing free games will not be updated to support Linux as they will do that for the big full set.

You can find the crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter . They're hoping to get at least £10,000 by November 24.

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Friday, 21 August, 2020 - 13:14 · 1 minute

Mixing up the visual novel genre with a little management and plenty of politics, For the People from Brezg Studio is out now with Linux PC support. As a young and spunky graduate you're shoehorned into leading Iron-1, one of the many towns spread across a fictional communist country. With big shoes to fill and plenty of problems to solve, along with talk on unrest, it's up to your to solve the issues of the people.

Very much a visual novel, one to get if you like a bit of political mystery and revolutions. That's mixed in with some reasonably light decision-based mechanics, where you need to weigh up various choices against your funding and how the political party feels about you. Don't expect a lot of depth to any of the management parts of the game, they're all quite light and don't seem to have a lot of meaning, it's more about going through the story. Quite short too, can be finished within single digit hours.

    Feature Highlight:

    • Develop a taste for power - Manage the appeals for justice from your citizens, grant or dismiss requests from subject departments, and untangle a web of political intrigue. Information is your most valuable resource, so do not be afraid to obtain it by any means necessary!
    • Always be two steps ahead - Every district in Iron-1 needs your help, but with a limited budget, you cannot help everyone. Strategically distribute resources to the people to earn their trust and increase your influence over them.
    • Over 5 possible endings - Every decision has a consequence. You will need to balance the interests of the party, the future of the country, and the very livelihood of your citizens. So, whose side will you really be on?

You can buy it on Humble Store and Steam .
