Love turn-based strategies? Check out the Turn-Based Tactical Bundle on Steam

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Thursday, 14 January, 2021 - 14:32 · 2 minutes

It appears that more developers are teaming up to create game bundles on Steam, where you get a couple games from different teams plus a discount to get them all together.

Much like the Devolver Digital Hidden Gems Bundle , this is a good chance to pick up even more indie greats if you don't already own them.

With the Turn-Based Tactical Bundle on Steam you get a copy of:

    • Heart & humor: Chroma Squad
      • "An international sensation itself, Chroma Squad is a love letter to Power Rangers and the shows that inspired it. In this wonderfully meta game, you manage a studio creating its own Power-Rangers-inspired TV show. Craft your gear, level up your skills, use not only powerful hero abilities but teamwork maneuvers. Anyone who enjoys tactical RPGs will have fun with this game, and if you grew up with the Power Rangers you'll love it even more."
    • Intense sci-fi squad tactics: Templar Battleforce
      • "Powerful Templar Leviathan mechs await you in this strategic combat RPG from the Trese Brothers. Like all their games, you'll get lots of replayability from the depth of options (including difficulty!) available to you. Create your own unique Battleforce by recruiting an array of Templar specialists to build your fireteams from. Choosing the right squad members for the job is essential for survival as you slash and blast your way across a deep and deadly sci-fi universe."
    • Might, magic, and massive battles: Warbanners
      • "This meticulously crafted fantasy world is ready for battle. Are you ready to lead an army? Gain unique advantages by recruiting off-the-battlefield assistants, manipulate the environment itself (freeze rivers, burn trees, build barricades...) to open up new options, and manage your mercenaries to earn a place among the ancient legends."
    • Easy to learn, incredibly fun to master: Golden Krone Hotel
      • "With multiple accolades for combining the best of classic roguelikes with innovative, streamlined gameplay, Golden Krone Hotel is a challenging gothic horror game for those who prefer monstrous enemies, not monstrous interfaces. This game provides an incredible amount of tactical challenge from the way it mixes just a few clever mechanics."

What's great about the bundle is that buying them together in it gives you an overall 28% discount, which results in quite a nice saving and you get multiple good titles to play through. I'm a pretty big fan of Golden Krone Hotel personally, with its accessible take on roguelikes with a gothic horror theme where you play as both a human and vampire.

Grab some indie goodies in the Devolver Digital Hidden Gems Bundle

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Wednesday, 13 January, 2021 - 15:45 · 1 minute

Need some more games to get you through 2021? The Devolver Digital Hidden Gems Bundle is live up on Steam (again) and comes with some quality experiences.

It's not the first time the bundle has appeared and probably won't be the last but it seems Devolver don't like to keep it up all the time. It gives you multiple titles published by Devolver along with a top discount to get them all together. Here's what you can get with 90% off:

Personally, I played quite a lot of Heavy Bullets a few years back. It's a first-person dungeon crawling shooter, and I really enjoyed the challenge of only having a few bullets that you needed to pick up after shooting. It's pretty clever. Needing to manually reload them sure does spice things up when you're surrounded.

Overall, quite a good selection of titles to go a grab for cheaps. Don't miss out on a good deal.

The Humble Holiday in Space Bundle has a few nice picks

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Monday, 28 December, 2020 - 11:01 · 1 minute

Another week another game bundle, a chance for you to build up that collection of games with the Humble Holiday in Space Bundle out now. Running for another 10 days, it does have a few nice picks. As usual, we shall highlight in bold text those that offer Linux builds.

For the lowest £0.75 / $1 tier you get two highly rated games:

    • Tacoma
    • Space Run

Dig deeper up to beat the average payment and you also get:

    • Deep Sky Derelicts
    • Rover Mechanic Simulator
    • Siege of Centauri

There's two more tiers at £7.47 which offers:

    • AVICII Invector

And then for the final £10.52 tier you get:

    • Breathedge
    • Moons of Madness

See the Humble Holiday in Space Bundle here if interested. The lowest tier is a steal for Tacoma at that price, a game I really personally did enjoy exploring.

While you're here, have a reminder of what else they have going that's interesting:

Plenty of games to consider if you're currently on a budget and looking for something new.

Humble Choice for December has 14 games including Children of Morta & Overcooked 2

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Friday, 4 December, 2020 - 18:41 · 1 minute

Looks like the monthly Humble Choice bundle for December is a pretty good one, filled full of games and Classic / Premium subs get 14 this time.

What is it? Each month Humble Bundle curate a selection of games for subscribers to claim. How many you can claim to keep depends on what tier you pay for. This month they seem to be quite generous since you keep them all and there's more than usual.

Here's what's on offer (Linux builds in bold text):

    • Overcooked 2 + Too Many Cooks + Surf 'n' Turf
    • Children of Morta
    • One Step From Eden
    • Indivisible
    • The Beast Inside
    • Shining Resonance Refrain
    • Zwei: The Arges Adventure
    • Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection
    • Tabletop Playground
    • The Haunted Island, A Frog Detective Game
    • Frog Detective 2: The Case of the Invisible Wizard
    • Still There
    • Struggling
    • Path of Giants

Additionally, they're also giving out one month of EA Play Pro when you sign up for Humble Choice Premium if any of you are interested at all in that. Existing subs get $5 off. You might be able to make use of that with the Wine compatibility layer perhaps.

Overall though for the standard $15 price for the monthly bundle getting Children of Morta, Overcooked 2 and One Step From Eden together make it a really great deal as those are fantastic games.
