The Humble Explore & Expand Bundle is live with plenty of space strategy

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Tuesday, 1 December, 2020 - 19:24 · 1 minute

In need of even more games? The Humble Explore & Expand Bundle is live now with a selection of space sci-fi strategy and action for you.

Ah, my favourite mix of genres. Space, sci-fi and strategy. I am a self-confessed huge space nerd, so a bundle of games like this is right up my street. The Linux-supported titles are great in this bundle but there's not many of them in total, it's a small bundle. Here's what to expect from it.

    For the minimum payment £0.75 / $1:

    • Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition (Linux support)
    • Rain of Reflections: Chapter 1
    • Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity

If you beat the average you get:

    • Starpoint Gemini Warlords
    • Galactic Civilizations III + multiple expansions

With the final tier at £7.47 having:

    • Stellaris - Galaxy Edition (Linux support), which gives you nice extras like the soundtrack, a novel and more

For Stellaris, that's actually one of the best prices we've seen for it (and lower than Steam's own best historical low price). Especially for that edition of the game too, making it a perfect time to grab it even if you're only getting the bundle for Stellaris. It's easily one of my own personal favourites.

It will be running until December 15th, 2020. If any of that interests you, find the bundle here .

You should also check out The Yogscast Jingle Jam 2020 Bundle too.

A fresh game bundle is here with the Humble Sweet Farm Fall Bundle going live and it's actually quite good.

With some of the proceeds going to the Sweet Farm charity, which say they are "the first non-profit sanctuary in the world to address the global impacts of factory farming across animals, the plants and the planet". The Humble Better Futures Bundle is up for more budget gaming

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Tuesday, 15 September, 2020 - 18:49 · 1 minute

Gaming on a budget? Humble Bundles are a good way to fill your library and there's a new one up with the just launched Humble Better Futures Bundle .

As usual, Linux supported / Linux builds will be highlighted.

Included in the initial $1 tier is:

    • Torchlight
    • Throne of Lies
    • Agent A: A puzzle in disguise

None of those offer official Linux support. Note - Humble is currently listing Throne of Lies incorrectly, as it doesn't support Linux (the developer removed it ). Torchlight did originally had a DRM-free download for Linux, which Humble had ported for one of their original indie bundles years ago but Runic Games never seemed to push it anywhere else.

More interesting is the next tier, which gives you these if you pay more than the average:

    • Road Redemption
    • Torchlight II
    • This War of Mine
    • + more to come in 6 days

All of which offer Linux builds.

If you pay for the full access to get the final tier you also get:

    • Knights of Pen and Paper 1 + 2 Collection
    • Mythic Ocean

You can find the bundle here if any of that interests you.

Humble Choice's latest has Golf With Your Friends, Evoland, Lethal League Blaze plus more

      Liam Dawe · news.movim.eu / GamingOnLinux · Friday, 4 September, 2020 - 17:33 · 1 minute

Humble's curated monthly selection of games for subscribers is up now with the September 2020 Humble Choice and there's a number of nice games inside.

Humble Choice (prev Humble Monthly) is a curated bundle that changes each month. You pick a tier with different prices to get access to the huge Humble Trove (a collection of DRM-free games) plus a Humble Store discount and then you pick between 3-9 games to keep. Until October 2, Premium / Classic level subscribers get to keep all of them.

Here's the choices, with those emphasised that support Linux and notes about others possible with Steam Play Proton :

    • Golf With Your Friends + Caddypack DLC + Soundtrack
    • Lethal League Blaze
    • Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York
    • Evoland Legendary Edition
    • Forager - they sadly removed Linux support, but it works with Steam Play proton
    • Strange Brigade -  works with Steam Play Proton if you rename bin/StrangeBrigade_Vulkan.exe to StrangeBrigade.exe
    • Generation Zero - should work with Steam Play Proton
    • Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair - works with Steam Play Proton
    • The Occupation - works with Steam Play Proton, but for cut-scenes you may need the Proton GE fork.

These three below may work with Proton GE, otherwise it's black screens but they need more testing:

    • Catherine Classic
    • The Shapeshifting Detective
    • Fun with Ragdolls: The Game

If you're interested in any of that, you check out the Humble Monthly here .
