fouet laser

Star Wars: Hunters review – the force is not that strong in this one

news.movim.eu / TheGuardian · Friday, 14 June - 07:00

Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android; Zynga/Lucasfilm Games
Essentially Overwatch with wookiees, this fun team-based online shooter can be tense and exciting but lacks any truly original features

Announced three years ago at a Nintendo Direct livestream, Star Wars: Hunters is one of those games that you can’t imagine suffered a long and difficult pitch process. Someone just had to say “It’s Overwatch but in Star Wars” and the development budget was in their account that afternoon. It is a no-brainer, and of all the entertainment projects the Star Wars brand has been slathered on to over the past three years, it’s certainly among the most understandable and well crafted.

Set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, Hunters is a four-v-four team-based online shooter, which, like Overwatch, allows players to choose from a selection of hero fighters, each with their own abilities and strategies. You can be a minigun-wielding Stormtrooper, firing 500 rounds a minute into rebel scum, or a Miralukan sharpshooter with a long-range sniper rifle, or perhaps a Rebel warrior with team-healing gadgets. Basically it’s the standard team-shooter classes – tank, sniper, healer, etc – but with sillier names.

news.movim.eu / Numerama · Wednesday, 12 June - 09:09

news.movim.eu / Numerama · Thursday, 28 March - 17:58

Getting TIE Fighter: Total Conversion working is worth the hassle and the $10

It had been a long, long while since I last suited up for the Empire and shot up some X-wings. At least 25 years, really, and probably a few more. Star Wars: TIE Fighter was a high point for LucasArts, but also for the amount of time and energy a certain teenage Ars Technica writer could devote to learning the attack patterns of Rebel squadrons.

When I saw recently that a rather massively scaled "Total Conversion" of TIE Fighter had released a new update, it felt like as good a time as any to jump back in the cockpit. TIE Fighter: Total Conversion (TFTC) is a nearly total remake of TIE Fighter , inside the more-advanced engine of its sequel, X-Wing Alliance , piggybacking off that game's own big fan-made modernization .

TIE Fighter: Total Conversion 1.3.3 update trailer. I love living in an age where a 1.3.3 mod update gets a trailer. I really do.

What Total Conversion promises is still TIE Fighter , but with:

We get our first good look at Grand Admiral Thrawn in Ahsoka trailer

news.movim.eu / ArsTechnica · Tuesday, 11 July, 2023 - 22:14 · 1 minute

Star Wars: Ahsoka follows the former Padawan Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In Apri l, we got our first look at the new Disney+ series Star Wars: Ahsoka with the release of a teaser during Star Wars Celebration Day in London. It was tantalizing but a bit light on details. Now we've got a full-length trailer that reunites several fan favorites and also gives us our first peek at the live-action version of Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose rumored return will fuel much of the plot for Ahsoka .

(Some spoilers for Star Wars: Rebels below.)

As previously reported , the Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka, was introduced as a supporting character in 2008's animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent animated series (voiced by Ashley Eckstein). The character returned in the sequel series Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018) as a member of the Rebel Alliance, operating under the codename Fulcrum, and made numerous other cameo appearances in the extended Star Wars universe. Rosario Dawson's live-action version made her debut in The Mandalorian 's second season. We last saw Ahsoka briefly in The Book of Boba Fett when she passed on a gift of chain mail to Grogu after warning Mando/Din Djarin that his presence would distract from Grogu's Jedi training. We all know how that turned out: Din and Grogu reunited and went on to share even more adventures in The Mandalorian S3.

Star Wars fans, rejoice! Here’s the first teaser for the Ahsoka series

news.movim.eu / ArsTechnica · Friday, 7 April, 2023 - 15:07 · 1 minute

Disney+ has released the first teaser trailer for its forthcoming Star Wars series, Ahsoka , starring Rosario Dawson.

Star Wars Celebration Day kicked off with the release of an extended teaser for Ahsoka , the latest interconnected series in the Star Wars franchise set to debut this summer on Disney+. Written by Dave Filoni, the series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role.

The Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka was first introduced as a supporting character in 2008's animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the subsequent animated series. The character returned in the sequel series Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018) as a member of the Rebel Alliance, operating under the codename Fulcrum, and made numerous other cameo appearances in the extended Star Wars universe. Dawson's live-action version made her debut in The Mandalorian 's second season. We last saw Ahsoka briefly in The Book of Boba Fett , when she passed on a gift of chain mail to Grogu after warning Mando/Din Djarin that his presence would be a distraction from Grogu's Jedi training. We all know how that turned out: Din and Grogu reunited and went on to share even more adventures in The Mandalorian S3, which will wrap later this month.

The official premise for Ahsoka is short and sweet: "Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy." In addition to Dawson, the cast includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, a young Mandalorian warrior, graffiti artist, and former bounty hunter; Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, a former pilot for the Rebellion; Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, a former con artist and thief who trained as a Jedi; and Ray Stevenson as Baylan.

Despite big Marvel and Star Wars shows, Disney+ falls short of its goals

Samuel Axon · news.movim.eu / ArsTechnica · Friday, 14 May, 2021 - 18:47

Meta-sitcom/adventure series WandaVision was one of Disney+

Analysts expected Disney+ to reach 109 million subscribers in Disney's most recent financial quarter, but the streaming service fell short, landing at 103.6 million. The shortfall resulted in lower revenues than expected for the company and a small stock price stumble.

Alongside word that Netflix also saw fairly slow growth in its quarter, the news suggests that there is, in fact, a limit to the explosive growth that streaming platforms have experienced amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Still, Disney is staying the course with its current strategy of pumping out TV series in established Disney brands like Marvel and Star Wars, as well as releasing new motion pictures on the platform at the same time they premiere in theaters.
